CEO and Co Founder of N4MD and Elemental Interactive
Simply put, N4MD empowers corporate communicators to “automagically” blend local news, social media and corporate content into e-books and Flipboard-like e-magazines for niche customer and internal audiences.
Leveraging social magazine apps like Flipboard, Google Currents, Pulse and e-book reader devices like Amazon’s Kindle and Barnes & Noble’s Nook; our SaaS – based content aggregation platform delivers digital publications that keep business communities informed…
N4MD was invited to join the first cohort of Georgia Tech’s Y-Combinator like accelerator program Flashpoint in October 2011. As the CEO of the company I’m actively working to craft the vision and business model of the company. I co-founded the business with two extremely talented people.
James Harris is co-founder, chief executive officer and chief storyteller of Elemental Interactive. Founded in 1994, Atlanta-based Elemental is one of the oldest and largest African-American owned, minority-controlled interactive companies in the country.
Harris’ interest in interactive media was sparked in the multi-media laboratory at Tennessee Technological University where he obtained his B.Sc. in Management Information Systems. He launched his own consulting business in 1992 and began working with such clients as Turner Broadcasting and BET on new media strategy and converting video content into new media properties. He also worked with Floyd Design (which later became IXL) as a programmer and project manager, and with A.D.A.M. Software developing consumer CD-ROMs for retail.
As CEO and Chief Storyteller for Elemental Interactive, James consults with the team during the Planning Phase of the project, offering support in defining the creative approach to communications and the technology framework to best support it.
